Parklife 2013 | Day 2

If you haven't read my day one at Parklife have a look here

After crawling out of bed and catching the bus down to Heaton Park we were ready for day two of Parklife! I didn't really get to see many people on the Sunday due to me losing my friend for about 6 hours and generally wandering around the festival, popping into a random tent every now and again. However, before I lost her we did get to catch Toddla T who was perfect for the festival crowd. When A Fire Starts To Burn by Disclosure seemed to become the song of the weekend due to it being played by pretty much every DJ in between sets, it did get annoying but everyone was still bouncing about to it by the Sunday afternoon. The day was not a waste though as I also got to see Johnny Marr, Toy, Everything Everything and Example.

We also discovered the Boohoo.com bus which had a lovely vibe in the centre of the festival. Festivalgoers could visit and have a little makeover - either hair or makeup - we also printed out some Instagram pictures which you can see below. AS WELL, you were able to customise your own pair of Boohoo sunglasses with diamantes, letters or little fruit shapes. (This was definitely the best part!)

Here is a massive photo of my head for you all to enjoy.

I'd never seen Everything Everything before but a few of my friends had and they told me that they aren't very good live. I wanted to find out for myself so I popped along, and unfortunately they were right. I put it down to the fact that the lead singers voice is so high and the lyrics are quite fast paced so you can't understand what he's really saying. It's a shame because their album is brilliant!

Johnny Marr! The absolute highlight of the weekend! He came onto stage with a red flower in his mouth, hinting towards The Smiths and the fact that they are known to have performed with flowers usually being swung around or hanging out the back of Morrissey's pocket. The set was mostly Smiths songs, playing into what the festival crowd wanted. And at the end he threw the flower into the crowd which my friend caught. I thought I'd be funny and pose of this photo. But I just look like a plonker really.

Example headlined the Sunday and as always was incredible. I can't listen to his music on my IPod when I'm just sitting on a bus or something but it's brilliant for live performances. I've seen him four times now and to this day have I haven't listened to any of his albums, he just seems to play a greatest hits type show. A great end to the weekend!

Did you go to Parklife? Have you seen any of these acts live?
