Leeds Festival 2013 | Day 1

This time last week I was at the annual Reading and Leeds Festival, I'm pretty sure you know what it is, I don't need to explain. This is the first time I have been to Leeds and I was mega excited to be camping for four nights and seeing some of my favourite bands playing over the weekend. As you can see on the photos above the weather was horrendous. It rained constantly throughout my time there but luckily for me most of the bands I had planned to see were in the tents. The mud was half way up our legs and I was just so glad I had a pair of wellies with me. This is why I should not go to a festival up north! Reading it is next year!

I had originally written this as one post but it got like a fricking essay so I shall split it into thirds and post them over the coming days, I thought you would get bored of it all in one!
On the Thursday night we headed to the Relentless Stage which is the arena I have pictured above, below all of the trees. This place was incredible and would have been so good if it hadn't have flooded throughout the weekend! I didn't get a chance to experience Piccadilly Party but from what I saw walking past in the pissing down rain, you must have been MENTAL to still go to it after Thursday.
On Friday I was lucky enough to have seen AlunaGeorge, Alex Clare, Haim, City and Colour, Disclosure and of course the headliner Biffy Clyro! I realised that I wasn't too keen on AlunaGeorge's live set, based on the fact that Aluna's voice is very high pitched and doesn't come across well in a live environment. I was surprised with how much I enjoyed Alex Clare, his voice is incredible and I will definitely be buying his album after seeing him at Leeds. By far my highlight of Friday was Disclosure, despite how good Biffy were I had been needing to see Disclosure ever since their tent packed out at Parklife and I was left stood outside. With special guests like Sam Smith and Ed from Friendly Fires dancing like I have never seen a man dance before, the concert could not have been any better. Disclosure played instruments live, the visuals were incredibly high-tech without taking anything away from the music.

Did you go to Reading or Leeds Festival?
